Where Analogue and Digital Art Meet
A Canon Norge feature about the collaboration between artist and photographer Eivind Lentz, Colormaster and Canon, combining analogue objects, digital image-making and fine art printing.
Eivind Lentz creates dreamlike photographic works by arranging discarded toys, small figures, glitter and other mass-produced objects directly on a scanner. The physical compositions are scanned and then developed further through digital image-making.
The collaboration with Colormaster and Canon focused on translating these detailed images into large-format fine art prints while preserving their colour, texture and visual complexity.
My involvement included production preparation and close collaboration around the practical requirements of the artwork. This meant helping ensure that the files, materials, colour reproduction and print process supported the artist’s intended result.
The project demonstrates how technical production knowledge can become part of the creative process rather than simply the final step.
